Fusionworks Youth Ensemble is a pre-professional company experience that encompasses technique classes, enrichment, and repertory, plus additional rehearsals and performances. It is the highest level of study at our school.
Overview

Fusionworks Youth Ensemble (FYE) dancers learn, rehearse, and perform works by internationally-recognized choreographers; have dances created on them by contemporary dance artists; and create their own dances. They also engage in collaborative activities with Dancing Legacy’s network of professionals and community members, uniting the students with the broader field of dance. In addition to their annual concert, they perform year-round on mini-tours throughout the region. These types of pre-professional experiences are rare in studio settings and unprecedented for students of this age.

Components
- Technique & Style Classes
- 2-3 Technique classes/week (Ballet, Modern, Ballet en pointe)
- 1-2 Additional classes/week (Jazz, Tap, Ballet Variations)
- Enrichment to fully develop their understanding of dance in the context of the world today
- Repertory rehearsals for students to study and perform dance masterworks
- Improvisation and composition sessions for students to work on their own choreography
- Performing in the annual FusionFest in June
- Professional Opportunities (Additional time may be scheduled in connection with specific activities)
- Collaborative activities with Dancing Legacy’s network of professionals and community members, uniting the students with the broader field of dance
- Performances throughout the year in the community
- Honors Society (optional, recommended for Senior Ensemble)

Tuesdays
Tuesdays
- 6:00-8:00pm: Intermediate/Advanced Ballet and Variations
- 8:00-8:30pm (optional, by evaluation): Beginning Pointe (Pointe I & II), Conditioning (Pointe III)
- 6:30-8:30pm: Intermediate/Advanced Jazz and/or Intermediate/Advanced Tap
- 8:30-9:00 (recommended): Honors Society meetings (monthly)
- 5:00-7:00pm: Intermediate/Advanced Modern & Rehearsal Block
- 12-1:00pm (optional, by evaluation): Ballet en pointe (Pointe II & III)
- 1-1:30pm: Conditioning (all but Pointe III)
- 1-1:30pm: (optional, by evaluation): Intermediate Pointe (Pointe III)
- 1:30-3:00pm: Rehearsal Block (2x/month)
- Variable Times: Enrichment Workshops (and other special times throughout the year)

- 6:00-7:15pm: Intermediate/Advanced Ballet (based on placement)
- 7:15-8:00pm (optional): Ballet Variations (must take Intermediate/Advanced Ballet)
- 8:00-8:30pm (optional, by evaluation): Beginning Pointe (Pointe I, must take Variations)
- 4:30-8:30pm: Jazz and Tap (1-2 hour block depending on placement and choice)
- 8:30-9:00 (optional): Honors Society meetings (monthly)
- 7:00-8:30pm: Beginner/Intermediate Modern & Modern Repertory
- Saturdays 12-1:00pm: Beginner/Intermediate Ballet (based on placement)
- 1-1:30pm: Conditioning, Pre-Pointe
- Saturdays 1:30-3:00pm (2x/month): Rehearsal Block
- Variable Times: Enrichment Workshops (and other special times throughout the year)
Part-time Ensemble members
- For those interested in the Ensemble experience, but not able to make the full-time commitment, contact us about options to be a part-time member (coming to fewer classes and/or fewer rehearsals and performing in fewer dances).
- Schedules may be adjusted for a limited time period during a sports season or performing arts production.
