Core Youth Program: Technique Classes (9+)
Our youth technique classes are for curious learners who want to incorporate the values of dance training into their lives. Our classes are taught in a progression that references important historical figures and eras in dance. The classes include a mix of ages and levels and this is built into the teaching approach, with some times where the students are separated by age or level to focus on different things, and other times where the students are together exploring the power of working across age and experience. Students in our youth technique classes receive high quality instruction in their chosen genre(s) and perform in the annual FusionFest in June.

Sep 7, 2022 - Jun 7, 2023 Tap explores the integral connections of rhythm and movement as students make music with their feet, learning terminology and movement patterns that are common in the tap genre.

Jazz
Wednesday 6:30-7:30pm
Sep 7, 2022 - Jun 7, 2023 Jazz explores traditional and contemporary jazz styles in a fun and energetic way, building strength, articulation, and flexibility with a variety of musical styles.

The Honors Track offers a comprehensive way of studying dance and connects students to the fullness that dance has to offer. Students in the Honors Track work towards induction into the National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHDSA).

Youth Ensemble
The Fusionworks Youth Ensemble (FYE) is a pre-professional company experience and is the highest level of study at our school. Students are admitted by audition. Auditions are by appointment - contact us to schedule an audition.

- Technique Classes: Students take 3 or 4 technique classes per week: Ballet and Modern + Jazz and/or Tap.
- Enrichment: Thursdays 4:30-6:00
- Repertory rehearsals for students to study and perform dance masterworks
- Improvisation and composition sessions for students to work on their own choreography
- Professional Opportunities: Additional time may be scheduled in connection with specific activities
- Collaborative activities with Dancing Legacy’s network of professionals and community members, uniting the students with the broader field of dance
- Performances throughout the year
